Business Director, Deputy to Sr. Vice President of NE Asia Sales: Boeing Commercial Airplanes

Nominated by: Betty Hicker ’88Appointed to the position of Business Director, Deputy to Sr. Vice President of NE Asia Sales for Boeing Commercial Airplanes in 2014, Tony is responsible for managing business operations in support of commercial airplanes sales and related services to airlines and lessors in China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Mongolia. Boeing is the largest exporter in the US, and Tony leads a team that is responsible for nearly a third of Boeing’s commercial sales.
Prior to his current assignment, Hicker held several positions supporting BCA commercial sales. Most recently Hicker was director of Contracts supporting Northeast Asia. Prior positions include director of Contracts Negotiation Support, Regional Director of Contracts for the Americas and Leasing, Contracts Manager for Boeing’s Commercial Aviation Services (CAS), and Senior Manager of Operations within BCA’s Fabrication Division at Boeing Portland.
In his profession at The Boeing Company, he has mentored many new college graduates and college interns from diverse backgrounds which has in turn provided employment opportunities for them. Even though his workload is demanding and he travels to Asia frequently, he is still willing to take a college intern every year to mentor.
Tony used the tools provided to him by Warner Pacific to strive for excellence in his profession by challenging himself in his career and pursuing an advanced degree to continue his academic growth in Business at it applies to his work at Boeing. He holds an MBA from the University of Oregon and Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Warner Pacific College. During college, Hicker played collegiate soccer and also played for the FC Portland soccer club. Tony enjoys playing golf and spending time with his wife and fellow WPC alum, Betty, and his family.
